This is one of my favourite pictures from one of my favourite festivals to shoot at. I took this back in 2011. This old man was looking into the distance and I was actually planning to shoot his side profile, when suddenly he turned and looked right into the camera. The picture is titled ‘L’esprit d’escalier’… It just seems like this man wanted to say something, but didn’t quite know what. I bet he thought of it later!
Will try to do a post with some of my all-time favourite images shot at the Pushkar Fair soon.
For those of you who don’t know too much about the Pushkar fair, it is the largest camel fair in the world and it always culminates on Kartik Purnima i.e. the night of the full moon in the Hindu month of Kartik when the Hindu God Brahma (The Creator) is believed to have created the Pushkar Lake.
Here’s a wikipedia link with more information about the Fair: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pushkar_Fair
